Learning Center of Lady of the Sea General
Hospital offers many educational programs
and medical services to the community
of South Lafourche. The Learning Center
provides the following programs on a regular
basis: Wellness
Clinic, Lunch
‘N Learn, Toddler
Time, Medi-Camp,
Safe Sitter,
CPR Instruction, KEEP (free kidney screenings
for qualified participants), RAD
Kids and Healthy
Pathways. Healthy
Pathways is a recently introduced
program that assists area businesses and
their employees in monitoring their health
with on-site testing and educational classes.
The
Learning Center also annually hosts “What
Women Should Know”, a symposium
on women’s health issues; “Her
Health”, a free symposium for mothers
and their daughters ages 11 to 14 that
explains health issues pertaining to young
adolescent girls; and the Safety
Circus, Lady of the Sea General Hospital’s
SAFE KIDS event held each year in May.

The
Safety Circus
includes presentations from different
area businesses and programs and includes
snacks, giveaways, and great informational
tools for children. For more information,

The main goal of The Learning Center is
to provide high quality education programs
and health screenings for the people of
our community.
Pictured
on this page are the Safety Clowns: Sleepy,
Lady Bug and Sporty. The Safety Clowns
appear at different locations and businesses
in the South Lafourche area to teach children
about safe behavior and health through
fun, interactive learning with the clowns.
