Lady of the Sea General Hospital is proud to introduce our newest physician, John “Jack” Jackson, M.D., FAAFP; Family Physician, who has joined our active medical staff. Dr. Jackson received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and his Medical Degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed his Residency training at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon, where he also completed his Family Medicine Fellowship and served as Chief Resident and Faculty Fellow.

Dr. Jackson has served as a board Member of OAFP, the Oregon Academy of Family Physicians, which is one of the largest chapters of the American Academy of Family Physicians as well as the Chief of Medical Staff for 11 years at Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day, Oregon. He also participated in the medical education process by serving as an Assistant Clinical Instructor for the Department of Family Medicine of Oregon State University, where he taught residents and medical students.

Dr. Jackson joins our staff with fifteen years of experience practicing family medicine, primarily in the state of Oregon. His father, Dr. James Jackson, is a well-known retired Ob/Gyn physician in the Thibodaux area. He is happy to return to South Louisiana, and specifically to South Lafourche. “I’m excited about bringing my expertise in family medicine to the people of South Lafourche. Everyone has been very welcoming to me, and I am happy to be able to provide medical care to those who live here.”

Dr. Jackson will be available for appointments beginning March 3rd at the Lady of the Sea Medical Clinic in Golden Meadow. As a family physician, he plans to work closely with the other providers in the area to provide patients with consistent and ongoing care.
